16-20 September NNCA Project Space, Vulcan Works.

The Professional Development Residency Awards (PDRA) was a partnership between NNCA and the University of Northampton, organisations that were both passionately committed to making Northampton a culturally rich place in which to live, study, and visit. Our common objectives were: creative research in art and design, public and community engagement, local growth and regeneration, and skills development, enterprise, and employment.
Freya Ayling was a recent graduate of Illustration at Northampton University, an artist-illustrator who captured nature and the natural sciences. She created an invitation that allowed audiences to engage with the strange yet beautiful aspects of nature and the processes that occurred. Freya utilised textures from traditional mediums alongside printmaking to recreate the various textures within our ecosystem.
During the residency, Freya produced a new series of linocut prints, which were displayed alongside her previous work. An informal exhibition opening was held on 19 September, 6–8pm.
