Work In Progress (WIP) is a free online event open to artists and makers at all stages of their careers.
This WIP will be led by Campbell McConnell. It will begin with an artist talk by Campbell and will be followed by a friendly and supportive peer review where you can present your work in progress.
There is no limit on attendees for the talk but the presentation slots are limited to 5 participants and are open to artists and makers at all stages of their careers.
No preparation is required but you will be able to share your screen if you want to. Just show up and talk about your idea, practice or work in progress to get feedback from the artist and the group. Each participant will have 15 minutes to share their work in progress.
About the Artist
Campbell McConnell works with video, writing, ceramics, 3D printing, sculpture and performance. Interested in the minor, more anecdotal narratives, he explores relationships between success and knowledge, innovation (and suspicions towards it) via concepts of time, awkwardness, direct mystery, the voice, the uncanny, fantasy, social ontology and cringe. Campbell Mcconnell’s recent exhibitions and education include; ‘Harboring Delusion’ Cheap Cheap Gallery, Birmingham ‘Noob’ The Museum of Human Achievement, Austin, Texas, BF Artist Film Festival, Whitechapel Gallery, London , ‘A general interest in the general end’ Five Years Gallery, London, Conditions Studio Programme (2021-2022,) & School of the Damned (2019-2021).
