Work In Progress (WIP) is a free online event open to artists and makers at all stages of their careers.
This WIP will be led by Elizabeth Tomos. It will begin with an artist talk by Elizabeth and will be followed by a friendly and supportive peer review where you can present your work in progress. There is no limit on attendees for the talk but the presentation slots are limited to 5 participants and are open to artists and makers at all stages of their careers.
No preparation is required but you will be able to share your screen if you want to. Just show up and talk about your idea, practice or work in progress to get feedback from the artist and the group. Each participant will have 15 minutes to share their work in progress.
About the Artist
Elizabeth Tomos is an artist and arts educator, currently working as a lecturer in Fine Art at Falmouth University, as well as the curator for Trans-states, a community interest company dedicated to the scholarship of contemporary occulture. Elizabeth has a background in both the visual and performing arts which she draws on to underpin her Perform//Print practice. Perform//Print is a hybrid method of making art that draws on the techniques, methods, and processes of printmaking and collides them with live and performance art practices. This is the subject of her current PhD research which is focused on establishing Perform//Print as a practice-based methodology. Elizabeth has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently as part of the Draw to Perform Festival 2022, in Brighton. For this festival, Elizabeth presented an inaugural performance of Vibrant Matter a live art performance that turns performing bodies into printmaking tools
