Jonbar points are a science fiction term pinpointing the moment where histories diverge. With one foot in reality and one in the imagination, the town architecture is excavated for spoken word, text, sculpture, photography, poetry and performance influenced by Rudyard Kipling and Alan Moore.
The artist takes on the guise of an archaeologist, uncovering hidden ‘histories’ for the duration of the exhibition. Starting with a map of Northampton, week by week, the artists and writers will contribute to the map with their findings.
Events accompanying the project include regular events such as the Crit Group, Show & Tell and creative workshops for families, as well as pop-up events by the artists and writers as they dig through Northampton.
Part of our Northampton Multiverse season.
