We are delighted to announce a new partnership with online lending digital object library; Library Stack, an archive and publisher focusing on digital art objects, co-edited by artists Benjamin Tiven and Erik Wysocan.
Together with Library Stack, we will create the first-ever online local public branch library at NN. Launching this summer, membership will permit the borrowing of digital art and digital publications, alongside exclusive access to commissions and curated content created for the project. The programme will include commissions in dialogue with NN’s exhibitions and public programming and a longer-term research project exploring; digital infrastructure surrounding the loaning of digital objects, new definitions of ‘local’ pertaining to digital architectures and alternative publishing models for culture. Library Stack have quickly become pioneers in the field of alternative publishing with their catalogue being accessed across major institutions such as MoMA, Whitney Museum of American Art, Bard College Library, e-flux, working with major and independent publishers such as Hatje Cantz, Critical Inquiry & Open Humanities Press and publishing digital works by artists such as Christine Sun Kim, Cory Arcangel, Cécile B. Evans, Ian Cheng, Brian Eno, Anicka Yi.
